I'm not quite sure what you're asking, as your question is very vague... ubuntu should install the same as it does on any other server. If you need technical support, however, please see the attached FAQ answer that provides some helpful information

We have done the OS installation and identified that Lenovo ST550 system have matrox mga g200e onboard display card.
Post booting the OS, display goes off from monitor. at the same time we can operate the system through XClarity Controller.

Need help for matrox mga g200e display drivers.

Hi, what processor does your ST550 have? And is it an ST550 or a TS550?

Hi,

Could you install Ubuntu on the machine and file a bug against the kernel using "ubuntu-bug linux"?

ubuntu server is mostly intended to be run headless as it provides no GUI environment, however, attaching a monitor to the VGA output and expecting a working terminal is not unreasonable.

That said, there are a couple things you can do here for further help. File the bug as mentioned above. The bug, however, may take some time to get triaged and investigated. Alternatively, there are support options that may help as well:

First, check out Ubuntu Pro support, available from Canonical to provide dedicated technical support for your system:
https://ubuntu.com/pricing/pro

There are also community supported options available such as the Ubuntu Discourse Forum among other means. More info can be found here:

https://ubuntu.com/support/community-support

But filing the kernel bug will be a good start regardless.

~Jeff
